Virtual Uϲͼ presidential search town hall on Wednesday

The ϲͼ Board of Regents and the University of ϲͼ Presidential Search Advisory Committee invites the Uϲͼ community to attend a on May 8 to provide feedback on the characteristics and qualities needed in the university’s next president.

In response to community feedback and to allow for additional input, the committee changed the town hall to a virtual session from its original physical location in Tucson. The virtual town hall is on May 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. .

“Community input is of critical importance to the board and committee,” said ϲͼ Chair Cecilia Mata. “We want to meet the community where they are at, which is why we are gathering feedback in person, virtually and anonymously. We are committed to finding a leader with the qualities necessary to lead an institution as exceptional as Uϲͼ.”

Committee members have held dozens of formal and informal stakeholder meetings and two public town halls. On Monday, the committee sent a feedback survey to Uϲͼ students, employees and alumni. More than 2,800 Uϲͼ community members have taken the presidential search feedback survey so far. The anonymous survey closes at 11:59 p.m. on May 8.

Information gathered from the survey and during these listening sessions will inform the development of the position profile and assist the Search Advisory Committee in finalizing the evaluation criteria for presidential candidates. Comments may also be sent to UϲͼPresidentialSearch@azregents.edu

The committee’s next formal meeting is on Tuesday, May 7 from 3-5 p.m. For more information about the Uϲͼ presidential search, click here.
